International recognition for Hart of the Barossa
Hart of the Barossa is a premium organic wine brand produced by Vintners Michael and Alisa Hart, custodians of the oldest certified organic vineyard in the Barossa Valley.
The 2008 Limited Release Certified Organic Shiraz was honoured with a gold medal at the recent International Organic Wine Award in Germany, placing the Barossa Valley and organic winemaking in the global spotlight.
A quality awards competition for wine produced from organically grown grapes, The International Organic Wine Award is the only and exclusive EU-approved PAR wine competition.
This year for the first time ever the "internationale bioweinpreis" was directed by WINE SystemAG and Martin Darting in partnership with DLG TestService GmbH.
Highly selected international wine experts from the areas of production, restaurant industry, trade, and media conducted the tasting according to the proven multistage process of the PAR-System, developed by Martin Darting. This kind of tasting guarantees an optimum of objectivity, traceability and fairness.
411 wines from around the world entered the prestigious competition, representing Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, France, South Africa, Greece, Argentina, Australia and Switzerland. Hart of the Barossa 2008 Shiraz was the only Australian wine to receive a medal.
